Liverpool Return to Winning Ways with 2-0 Victory over Everton at Anfield
Goals from Gakpo and Salah Secure the Win
Liverpool returned to winning ways on Wednesday night with a 2-0 victory over Everton at Anfield. After a disappointing draw against Crystal Palace last weekend, Jurgen Klopp's side put in a much-improved performance to secure the victory.
Cody Gakpo opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 27th minute with a fine header from a Trent Alexander-Arnold cross. The Dutchman's first goal for the club was a timely one, giving Liverpool the lead against their bitter rivals.
Mo Salah doubled Liverpool's lead in the 58th minute with a typically clinical finish. The Egyptian's goal wrapped up the points for Liverpool and sent the home fans into raptures.
The victory moves Liverpool up to seventh in the Premier League table, while Everton remain in the relegation zone. It was a much-needed win for Liverpool, who will now be looking to build on this performance when they travel to St Mary's to face Southampton on Saturday.
